People used to associate the Anglo-American Empire as the British Empire but at present, it is known as the US Superpower. There seems to be a big difference between the two, for those of us who are living at the present. These two empires actually seem to be guided by the same underlying world view without sharing the same language.

So, has the Anglo-American Empire been a blessing or a curse on the world?

A very gifted speaker in the person of Tony Campolo addressed all good Christian preachers and challenged everyone to have more than what they have. Tony Campolo's ideas could be uncomfortable at times but very rewarding. He is also very entertaining, insightful and challenging.

Loving one's neighbor is the topic of Tony. He has used an anecdote to illustrate this. The anecdote deeply affected him and developed his passion to love the poor. Basically, some people who lived in US and UK would say that, they are not virtuous or wealthy enough, but compared to other countries where child prostitution is the norm, they are lucky and must be contented. Where did this money come from? And where did the will to use it to make the world a better place come from?

The British Empire is usually questioned, so are all US attempts at intervening for foreign policy. However, this act seems very politically correct.

Yet it remains an historical fact that the average man in the street has never been better educated, better fed, wealthier, healthier or freer in the history of the world, than right now, in an English speaking nation.

Society and humanity will climb higher and higher with every passing generation. This is the mythical force of social evolution which most people believe in. This can be seen in the writings of the likes of Nietsche. And it was as false when G.K.Chesterton and C.S.Lewis debunked it in the 1900s and 1950s as it is now. Empires rise and empires fall.

We have lost much of what made us great. Today, we could not achieve today what our ancestors achieved in, for example, the settling of the west (USA), the industrial revolution (China), or the Second World War. But if people rediscover and re-embrace what made the Anglo-American Empire great, it may yet rise to new heights of greatness as yet undreamed of. The empire would not be teetering on the edge after all. If it does, this empire, like every other empire before it, and there were many, will decline to be a footnote in history.

That is why, it is very important to identify some of the beliefs that shaped our ancestors lives, where most of them are lost by now.

Theories of evolution of mankind, animals and the universe have been the basis of scientists in trying to explain as to how life came into existence. Their views have not gone down well with religious people who believe in creation by God as stated in Genesis in the bible. This group believes God created everything in six days and rested on the seventh day. For this reason, a number of arguments against evolution theories have been advanced.

The first argument is that living things come from their own. There is no way they could have developed from non living things. The general view is that there has to be a parent of opposite sex for life to come about. These theories on the other hand state otherwise and they have no proof to support their claim; just word of mouth.

On the side of universe, they believe it formed on its own from deformed matter. The weight is thrown behind the force of gravity. The biblical version denotes otherwise where God spent six days to create everything and He rested on the seventh day. Just mere statements of unknown force called gravity are not sufficient enough to support these theories.

In this perspective, it is not logical for matters to pile up on their own into well formed and organized things. There has to be an intellectual force behind this and at this point, God comes into the picture. He is the creator of earth, sky and all that are in it as stated in the first book of the bible. The idea of gravitational force is unrealistic since with the passage of time, it should have declined in strength as of today.

In other terms, change comes into existence from organized form to disorganized ones. The view of matter moving from disorganized to organized is not a reality in any way. With transition still in existence, diminishing of any kind is can be noted. As of such, deformation is being experienced as of today. This makes their theories not to hold any ground with mere speculations and no concrete evidence.

Others believe in mutation as the process which brought about human beings and other living things. Usually when matter mutates, it forms new generic materials. This does not support this theory in any way. Besides, the mutating matter cannot transform itself to something different from the original bodies. This point to the previous argument that matters usually moves from an orderly state to a disorderly one.

Cell division is another component where these scientists have based their arguments. For this to occur, a lot of time is needed since the entire process is very slow. Besides, the new bodies or cells formed are an imitation of the original matter and nothing different.

With all these in place, arguments against evolution theories have turned to be more realistic. There is clarity and all the available pieces of evidence point to the existence of intellectual being who was organized in coming up with the entire creation. All these are therefore the works of God.

Trying to find non-partisan political information is becoming harder and harder each day. Between what partisan politicians are saying and what the news media decides to print or broadcast, it is difficult for people who want to know what is going on. The endangered species that is fact is disappearing faster than many of the animals that are actually on that list, which is also extremely partisan.

The propensity for the dominant media to listen only to one side of every issue makes the idea of a free press less attractive to many. The politicians that are listened to will have all of the say, in this way, for those who only get their news this way. There used to be hard news and commentary, both of them separate from each other, editorially. Now that distinction has been all but eliminated for the past 30 years.

By only being informed by the thoughts and beliefs of one party and mimicking the other party, the press does not present informative news. The departure from the hard questions creates a media that will support one party over another, regardless of issue. Many people do like this type of partisan reporting and way of looking at things, however, it leaves others wanting true non-partisan political information.

Simply repeating the words of a politician as being the news fit to print makes the exercise of a First Amendment protected entity a dangerous element of the body politic. This does not matter whether it is a right or left wing elected or appointed person. Politics, for all of its necessity in the debates of the day, do not require the press to bolster one side or the other.

No press member will ask a direct question of a politician except in one case. That case is when they are interviewing a candidate or elected person of the other party. Since they rarely associate with these individuals, the news is simply filled with what the reporter gets from what their favorite candidate thinks the other will say. Since this is not from the horses mouth, so to speak, it is not news.

The inability to get a clear idea about things are especially important as we discuss gun violence. One side will say that guns are dangerous and, by having more weapons on the street, the violence is expanding. This contributes to the idea that everyone who buys a gun is going to become a crime statistic. The fact, on the other side is that, as gun ownership is more wide spread, gun crimes have gone down.

Not being able to contend with all of the facts that are available when you think about it, immigration, for one side, is simply emotional. They will say that we need to make sure they can all partake of the American dream. They will not allow the fact that the illegal immigrants are not following the law and are, thus, illegal to be here. They must emotionalize the issue so there is no rel facts being considered.

No politician wants to be accused of standing in the way of people understanding what those same politicians are doing to or for the American people. They will tell all, far and wide, what they want the people to know and it will not be what they are actually doing. All they have to present is what they are supposed to tell their audiences because non-partisan political information will not assist them in making themselves look good.

A Short Story About Sergeant Hack

Sergeant Hack was born in a certain town in Kentucky, but he later moved to Louisville after a few years. During the year 1957, he applied for the Coast Guard of the United States at a very young age of seventeen. There he served for about four years. In 1964, he joined the Army and volunteered himself for Ranger Preparation. He passed through several recruiters until he finally reached Fort Benning, GA, particularly in the Ranger Department. In 1965, he was put on track for his Ranger School Preparation. He was designated to serve at Eglin Air Force Base, FL as the Harbor Craft Boatswain.

He was able to support twenty Ranger School training cycles for 21 days and a month for two years and still believing that his own start date would come. However, his desire to attend his dream took second place because of the needs of the Army. Sergeant Hack loyally served the Army by preparing young soldiers and officers for combat in Vietnam.

In his 24 months of support in Ranger training, he was not able to complete it and never wore a Ranger Tab. He was disappointed that he never got his most desired class date and never got the opportunity to earn his Tab. Still, he realized the essence of his training responsibilities and became proud of his two years duty with the brigade.

He was assigned as the sergeant of Big Red One when he entered the First Infantry Division in Lai Khe, Vietnam. He also received an award called Purple Heart due to the combat wounds he obtained in 1968 that finally ended his journey in the military. He obtained a lot of injuries for two different events.

He spent an entire year in a US Army hospital and was placed on medical hold for three more years. When he recovered, he was assigned as a recruiter in a town in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls and in Tallmadge, Ohio. He gained a nationwide recognition as a top recruiter.

His typical recruiting tools would include a custom jeep, a special painted Corvette and a certain shirt. He used this to become the top one recruiter for the years 1969 up to 1973. The custom jeep is currently displayed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky museum.

A few years after his retirement, he then served in the Police Department of Hudson. He was designated in a certain Summit Region Sheriff Department. He stopped his police vocation as the Chief of Police in a certain town in Sebring, Ohio.

In the year 1985, he founded the US Wings together with his wife. This is a family operated company that is located in Boston Heights, Ohio. They supply bomber jackets and aviation gears to different branches of the armed forces.

Sergeant Hack became a Life Member of the 101st Airborne Division, the first Infantry Division, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police.
